Food in Taiwan has been yums and obviously, I have been searching around on the weekends for omnomnoms that I like. The thing is, when the food comes, I forget to stop, drop & roll pause and take a picture.
Before I know it, it’s all gone.
BUT wait! I did remember to restrain myself and take some shots - granted some of them are pictures of seconds!
Here are some of my fav food shots.

Grilled Crab Legs - the sweetness of the succulent crab meat fills my mouth with the taste of the sea. No kidding.
Shrimp Cone - Basically it’s very fresh shrimp flash fried with seasoning and chopped celery and put in a cone. Yes - it is an ice cream cone. First, the squeeze some mayo in it, and then stuff it with shredded, fresh lettuce and then finally, top it off with a very generous portion of the shrimp. Oh, and this is a shot of the 2nd cone as I wolfed the first one down without thinking.

Chirashi-don. The fish is fresh and the slices are generous. You can tell that it has NEVER been frozen before. The salmon and tuna melted in my mouth. I almost fainted from happiness.

Incredibly awesome and fresh bamboo shoots. I am starting to think that I am a Panda. This is one reason why I am SO THANKFUL to be in Taiwan. And it is only NT39 for one whole shoot. (NT$23 = SGD$1) Do your math.

Taiwanese style Okonomiyaki - nothing like pork belly for the flavor and omph! And the egg yolk is done to perfection that is it still a little runny but cooked when you cut into it.

Herbal Pork Rib Soup - I really didn’t care much about the pork ribs but the soup is simply amazing. Very nourishing. I was surprised that the ribs were achingly tender that a gentle probe of my chopsticks separated meat from bone. And the flavor…incredible.

Ika (squid) Sashimi - Now, I usually do not order ika because of countless disappointments - even in Japan. Anyhoo - I was at this hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant and ordered omakase. This was one of the courses which the chef proudly placed in front of me. You can see from the picture that he has scored the flesh very evenly and that is really what makes it a whole lot better. The taste, texture and flavor is now forever etched in my brains and tastebuds. Plus, the fact that I could watch the chef at work, preparing my food heightened my sense of anticipation as well.
So there - here are some of my fav food shots. I hope you like some of the foods and let me know what you think - and feel free to ask questions if you have any on the foods I shot. (there is a ask me link you can click on the right)
I think I am hungry again. Omnomnom.
{EDIT: I changed to another video which showed their emotions after the choral performance. Music, truly, is the universal language for emotions.}
This is a choir put together by Kolleen Park, a Korean-German musical director and Choi Jae Lim, a musical actor. Actually it is a part of a korean variety show “Qualifications of Men” by KBS.
Long story short - this random choir, consisting of korean entertainers (part of the variety show) and amateurs that were chosen from a open audition. They had 3 months to prepare for a choral championship in Busan and on 1 Oct, they went live with their performance and I must say, this is my favorite rendition of “Nella Fantasia” of all times. It is truly beautiful. Only 3 months and the results are simply amazing.
Then, they put a great animated medley that is both entertaining to watch and fabulous to listen to.
I suppose if you wanted to find out more, you can do so on google or youtube.
Enjoy!
Sure, the Dancing Squid seafood bowl looks supremely unappetizing, but if you paid for a Dancing Squid seafood bowl it better damn well come with a dancing squid.
